Tracy King Marketing Manager: “Christmas is always a highlight at the Shopping Centre and this year will be no exception. We’ve broken the Christmas launch into two sections. Saturday is very much a children’s day out with a real party atmosphere and plenty of activities for them to watch and get involved in.
“Thursday evening when the lights will be switched on promises to be as colourful and vibrant as ever with a whole host of local musicians and one of the country’s leading pop groups finishing the show. There’ll be music for all tastes!”
November is a busy period for STEPS who on Monday, 12thlaunch their Christmas album – ‘Light up the World’ – and start a six day Christmas tour in Plymouth on 30thNovember.
On Saturday the entertainment is aimed entirely at the children with Santa arriving on his pantomime ponies at Noon to set off three hours of party fun including stilt walkers, Cheeky Elves balloon modelling, Make your own Christmas Cracker, face painting, Roller Skating Christmas Pudding, Roller Skating Snowman, Twinkle the Christmas Tree, and a fun fair.
Andrew Lowrey: “Despite the fact that we will have building works for the four new large retail units going on in East Walk, we will ensure there is a traditional Christmas feel to the Centre with decorations throughout. For the traders Christmas is always a crucial period and we believe we have a first class package of entertainment to kick things off!”
