New M&S Simply Food store proves a draw for Yate shoppers

Yate Shopping Centre has seen a boost in visitor numbers following the recent opening of M&S Simply Food - and other retailers in the centre are reaping the benefits.
During the week that M&S Simply Food opened, Yate Shopping Centre saw footfall increase across the centre by 13 per cent. The East Walk section where the M&S store is situated has seen daily footfall rise by 20 per cent, with nearby retailers also seeing a real boost in sales and visitor numbers.
Andrew Lowrey, Centre Manager for Yate Shopping Centre, commented: “The opening of M&S Simply Food has had a huge impact on the shopping centre as a whole, with footfall up by as much as 20 per cent, which is a fantastic result in the current climate. The opening of M&S is also attracting a new type of customer to Yate, and many of our other retailers are seeing a significant uplift in sales. This is great news for the centre and the area as a whole.”
M&S Simply Food Store Manager, Rob Mathias, added: “The response from local people has been fantastic. Customer feedback on the quality and range of products on offer has been very positive, and our sales figures reflect this.
“Our in-store café and bakery have proved extremely popular with shoppers, and we have experienced a strong demand for deli products, global meals and our ‘Dine In’ offers - reflecting the current trend towards quality dining at home.”
